Social Media Assistant

Brunswick (VIC)

About Your Role

Initially 1 day a week, with opportunity to grow into more hours based on engagement and team fit.

Working alongside our existing team, we need your videography and editing skills to help BVC move into the age of the moving image!

We’re looking for someone who knows and loves BVC, who can gel with our existing tone of voice while also sharing more of our human side. Our team is passionate and amazing and there’s a lot of kitchen magic behind the scenes of BVC that we’d love to show. There may not be much new under the sun but we’d like our content to give viewers a peep behind the curtain into what makes us authentically us rather than trying to jump on viral trends or mimic what other people in the food space are doing in terms of editing and voice over styles.

Ideally you’re able to translate our current identity into an elevated but approachable video style, capturing us and our ice cream in our natural habitat. We always have something fun or delicious happening but are short on hands and time to capture and compile these moments.

Application Requirements

If you feel this is  a good fit for you, please send us an example of your most applicable content that interprets the above, or reach out with a cover letter and your CV.

Pastry Chef

Brunswick (VIC)

About Your Role

Part-time initially, with the possibility of transitioning to full-time based on demonstrated experience. We're on the lookout for an experienced and capable addition to our kitchen team at Brunswick. While our team already has amazing all-rounders, we're seeking someone with proven kitchen experience to join us. A minimum of 1-2 years in a commercial kitchen is required. Due to our current hiring needs, only applicants that meet this requirement will be considered. With a preference for candidates who already have experience in ice cream making or pastry.

To be considered for this role you’ll ideally be able to stay in the role (provided it’s a good fit) for a minimum of 12 months.

In this position, you'll need to enter with a mastery of tasks like making honeycomb, caramel, and meringue, all while maintaining a fast pace of production and staying on top of product quality and cleanliness. Problem-solving skills are essential, particularly in the dynamic environment of natural ice cream production. This role has some customer service requirements so an ability to chat comfortably with customers and a strong knowledge of our brand is a must. Expect a mix of day and evening shifts, (not at the same time) including some weekends till 10:15pm.

Your responsibilities will encompass everything from creating new flavours and specials to ensuring the kitchen is well-organised and stocked with fresh ingredients. We're looking for someone who embodies our values of sustainability, quality, community, and enjoyment and who can contribute positively to our team culture.

Application Requirements

Our ideal candidate will embody our values (sustainability, quality, community, enjoyment/fun) and take every action through that lense.

Please include specific ways you’ll be able to embody our brand values on the job, or how they align to your own. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions or need further clarification before applying.

If this sounds like you, we invite you to send your CV and a cover letter to Morgana at detailing why you're the right fit for this role.
